Physiological Response

Aiming for objectivation of flavors and fragrances

Scents cannot be seen. Yet when we smell a scent, we feel "hunger" or "comfort," or "disgust" or "discomfort." What is going on in the human body when this happens? And how do humans sense scents in the first place? We measure a wide variety of physiological responses in order to determine the answer to this simple yet still-unanswered question.
